  SECO - Economic Development Cooperation
  The development and transition directorate of SECO is the Swiss government’s competence centre for sustainable economic development and the integration of developing and transition companies into the global economy. Its primary objective is to fight poverty.
  Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC)
  The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is Switzerland’s international cooperation agency within the Swiss Foreign Ministry.   CITES
  CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) is an international agreement between Governments. Its aim is to ensure that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten their survival.
  Convention on Biological Diversity
  Signed by 150 government leaders at the 1992 Rio Earth Summit, the Convention on Biological Diversity is dedicated to promoting sustainable development. Conceived as a practical tool for translating the principles of Agenda 21 into reality, the Convention recognizes that biological diversity is about more than plants, animals and micro organisms and their ecosystems – it is about people and our need for food security, medicines, fresh air and water, shelter, and a clean and healthy environment in which to live.
 

Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF)

  The Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF) assists developing countries in their efforts to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation--called REDD--by providing value to standing forests.
  UN-REDD Programme
  The UN-REDD Programme, a quick-start action project, aims to demonstrate that early REDD results are possible in some of the major forests of the world. The Programme will assess a wide range of pressing issues, including how best to counter the forces that are driving deforestation and how best to ensure that the needs of local and indigenous peoples are addressed in a post-2012 climate agreement that may include payments for standing forests.
