In
selected countries, where Switzerland implements programmes of trade-related
technical cooperation, targeted standard-related projects are being developed
and implemented. Such projects should take account of the following principles:
Focus on economic sectors with significant export
and poverty reduction potentials;
Transfer of technical knowledge at the local level
in order to reduce the dependency on foreign conformity assessment providers;
Promotion of regional cooperation;
Support improvement of the governance management
of national standardization bodies.
